There are many good reasons for using run around coil systems in air handling units; to name but a few: supply air flow and extract air flow are completely separate, the supply air can be cooled easily and hygienically using a humidifier and evaporative cooler on the extract air side, and heating and cooling energy can be easily fed into the system for air conditioning. Even the TROX X-CUBE basic version meets high hygiene requirements. Now the run around coil system with its new hydraulic unit allows for installing highly efficient TROX solutions also in hygienically sensitive areas. The flow of the water glycol mixture is based on the airflow and precisely set, which helps to further increase the energy efficiency of the entire system.

The hydraulic unit comes with its own control system, which can be connected to TROX X-CUBE CONTROL. It is also possible to integrate the system with other existing control packages; this is easy to do and requires only minimal wiring.

For sizing the run around coil system using the X-CUBE Configurator TROX has developed a dedicated software. The tool, X-COIL, was certified by TÜV in June 2015. In comprehensive tests, the sizing results were compared to the values achieved in a lab test setup and were confirmed. This means that TROX is one of only few AHU manufacturers that can provide a TÜV-certified software. Regular tests by TÜV ensure that the 'theoretical', i.e. calculated technical data are actually achieved when the system is in operation. X-CUBE units with run around coil systems may hence also carry the energy efficiency label of the Association of AHU Manufacturers.

TROX offers a high-efficiency run around coil system with hydraulic unit that sets new standards for hygiene and energy efficiency and meets the 2016 and 2018 eco requirements already today.
